Dueling Uilleanns!

Celtic Music Night at St. Andrew is ON for this Tuesday!!! 7pm!

That’s right my friends, I have finally returned from the extended summer touring with Molly’s Revenge, and I am ready to kick things into gear with more music–are you ready???!! Tomorrow night is going to be a very cool and interesting night of unique, lovely, & fun sounds, because there will be not one, but TWO Irish Uilleann pipes playing together… a fabulous sound to behold!
(…assuming none of the drones go shooting across the room!) jk 😉

My protege of the Uilleann pipes, Eric Bloecher, has been working very hard to master the challenging instrument and I am quite proud to announce that he has reached an excellent level of skill and repertoire, now to be shared with you in concert! Together, we will be playing duets of all types of tunes on the Irish bagpipes, and I’ll also be accompanying Eric’s ‘solo’ pieces with the bodhran and guitar. Eric started music studies on piano at a young age, and now attends Cabrillo College. Eric was featured playing as a member of the Celtic band “Isle of Light during their cameo appearance at the Rio Theater in Santa Cruz as part of the hugely popular ‘Throwing Stones’ concert last May. It is somewhat rare to hear this instrument played, but especially rare to hear two together… hope you can come on out and check it out!
And of course we’ll follow the concert with free refreshments and an open jam session :):):)

So to re-cap, here is the schedule for the rest of the Late-Summer Series:
September 20th: Irish Uilleann pipe duo performance by Eric Bloecher & David Brewer, followed by open jam session.

September 27th: Music Night field trip to concert at Don Quixotes by Scottish band The Old Blind Dogs
