Hello my friends, November is set to be an insanely great month for Scottish music in Santa Cruz! More on that soon, but it all starts this Tuesday:
Our Fall Season of Celtic Music Night at St Andrew is kicking off with a bang Tuesday Night with a world-class duo from the land of Oz………
that is, all the way from AUSTRALIA!!!
World renowned Scottish fiddler Catherine Fraser & pianist Duncan Smith will be doing a special concert for us at Celtic Music Night!!This is truly going to be a night which you will want to be there for! Bring yourself & please help spread the word and get your friends and family to come, but don’t just take my word for it, check out their website and music– phenomenal! If you’ve enjoyed the amazing performances of Scottish fiddle we’ve been blessed to have so far by the wonderful Rebecca Lomnicky, Deby Benton Grosjean, and Colyn Fischer with Shauna Picket Gordon on piano, then you will LOVE Catherine Fraser & Duncan Smith! COME ON OUT THIS WEEK!!
I sure hope you can make this one, as I am certain you’ll be glad you came. Please note, that since this duo is coming from such a great distance, and though Music Night attendees are famous for taking great care of our special guests, I have asked that our suggested donation be $15 per person, or $10 with purchase of an amazing cd. This Wednesday Night 11/2/2011, The Battlefield Band, from Scotland, perform at Don Quixote’s in Felton!
And I’ll be performing as guest in a couple of other great Scottish concerts:
Saturday 11/12/2011 with Scots fiddler Deby Benton Grosjean & friends CD release, at Kuumbwa Jazz Center downtown Santa Cruz.
Sunday 11/13/2011, with the Syncopaths, great Scottish Contra-dance band, at Moe’s Alley in Soquel.
CMN’s Fall Season starts next Tuesday night, November 1st, at 7pm…and runs every Tuesday through November with featured guests and sessions every week!
