Michael Mullen – Back By Popular Demand!

Hello from the road, my wonderful friends of Celtic Music Night at St. Andrew!

As we speak, I’m hurtling along the 405 freeway in Los Angeles with Christa Burch as the Winterdance continues…
The holiday festivities are well underway and it’s so lovely to see everyone out enjoying the season–I hope you are having a grand time with friends and family!

We certainly have been at Celtic Music Night, AND I’m so excited to announce our featured guest coming this Tuesday!!! But first, Thanks to everyone who came out last week for the Peter Daldry; it was a fun night indeed…arguably TOO fun! And there’s more on the way…

That’s right folks, I am so excited that the Winter Series of Celtic Music Night, continues THIS Tuesday night at St Andrew Church in Aptos. Spread the word! Check it out…

THIS Tuesday, December 16th, 7pm
Michael Mullen: the Trio of One!
One of Celtic Music Night’s most dynamic guest acts, back by popular demand, this lad plays a mean Celtic fiddle, as well as guitar, and sings, and does it all at the same time! With the aid of digital looping pedals, & armed with his exceptional playing skills of melody, harmony, & arrangement, Michael becomes his own ensemble, the Trio of One, taking even a simple traditional melody and building it into a wall of wonderful sound one might easily mistake by links tending for a full band, but one glance at the eyes realize that as he whirls around the stage leaping between instruments, he is the lone master-mind of it all. But you have to see it & hear it to believe it– come on down to Music Night this Tuesday to experience yourself!

And as is tradition, the evening will include a bagpipe procession, concert of music, Q&A with the group, complimentary refreshments, and an open Celtic music jam session with the players afterward, so bring your instruments, questions, and good vibes– and ALL of this is ALL ages, and ALL for a nominal donation of any size at the door. So grab your friends, family, instruments, and head out to Aptos tomorrow night for a good time the way nature intended!
See you there!!!

Also, I am so excited to announce that the critically acclaimed Celtic holiday show, Winterdance, is continuing it’s tour through the bay area this month! The incredibly popular show, featuring tremendously lovely vocalist Christa Burch, with the sonic power of Molly’s Revenge, and the dynamic dancing of the Turco Irish Dancers, have delighted audiences for the past ten years, and this years concert is better than ever, with a new cd being released of the shows festive songs & tunes, both old & new, that are sure to jump-start a very merry holiday season!
The closest show is happening Friday night, December 19th, 7:30, at Trinity Cathedral in San Jose, and advance ticket reservations are strongly encouraged due to the shows popularity, and can easily be booked by visiting: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/winterdance-celtic-christmas-show-tickets-13950346863
$21.49 in advance, or a wee bit more at the door. All ages. Opening set by Celtic duo Kyle Alden & Susan Spurlock.

As promised, the Scottish theme will continue throughout the month with more featured guests coming on following Tuesdays:

Tuesday, December 16th, 7pm — featuring: Michael Mullen–Trio of One!
Simultaneous fiddling, guitar-ing, & singing!

Tuesday, December 23th, 7pm — **NO CELTIC MUSIC NIGHT THIS WEEK!** We’re off on tour in the Pacific North West…

Tuesday, December 30th, 7pm — Rebecca Lomnicky & David Brewer duo, International Scottish fiddle star who started it all, with the roaming piper of Molly’s Revenge ring in the New Year at this special Hogmanay Celtic Music Night concert party Finale!!! Mark your calendars now!
