Salutations, friends of Celtic Music Night at St Andrew! And welcome December! The Winter Series is under way, and you are invited!
I hope you all had a fantastic Thanksgiving weekend with friends, and kin, and plenty of good food…. And now for your fill of Celtic Music as December unfolds in Aptos!!
I just want to say a quick thanks so much to everyone who came out to hear me play at last weeks Celtic Music Night at St. Andrew Church! It was really a wonderful trip down musical memory lane for me, playing all those tunes from the ol’ Rosie McCann’s days, Santa Cruz High School CD project , and from the dawn of Molly’s Revenge… and Ye’s where lovely crowd! And, yes, the full evolution of Molly’s Revenge will be bringing the ever popular WinterDance show to Felton, This Thursday Night at Don Quixote’s… more on that in a moment below….
THIS Tuesday December 1st, at 7pm (TOMORROW NIGHT)–featuring:
Erik Leiken — professional highland bagpiper featuring a program of traditional and modern piobaireachd (Scotland’s classical pipe music).
Erik is an avid competitive bagpiper, and has been well know on the competition scene for years as a member of many fantastic Grade One bagpipe bands, as well as a soloist in the professional division.
December 8 — Charmas — local Irish music band with traditional songs and dance tunes a’plenty.. &, the grande finale…
December 15 — The Peninsula Scottish Fiddlers — the return of a favorite; the bay area’s epic Scottish fiddle orchestra!
Celtic Music Night is a FREE event, run by donations of any amount at the door if possible to help it continue– just contribute what you can that makes sense for you, and your support is greatly appreciated in keeping folk tradition going. CDs and recordings of the artists are also available for purchase.
As is tradition, each of these fun-filled evenings at Celtic Music Night include a bagpipe procession, concert of music by a featured special guest artist, Q&A with the group, complimentary refreshments, and an open Celtic music jam session with the players afterward, so bring your instruments, questions, and good vibes– and ALL of this is ALL ages, and ALL for a nominal donation of any size at the door. So grab your friends, family, instruments, and head out to Aptos for a good time the way nature intended!
