Summer Season is Here!

Hello friends, I hope you’ve been keeping well and enjoying the approach to summer! It’s been quite an adventure in the time off but I am so excited to announce:
Celtic Music Night at St. Andrew is BACK for This coming Tuesday NIGHT!
That’s right everyone, The Early Summer Series of Celtic Music Night will begin this Tuesday June 7th and run every Tuesday through June ending with the final of four in the series on June 28th, and every week will have a fabulous featured guest, concert of music, refreshments, and open Celtic music jam session! PLEASE HELP SPREAD THE WORD!!! We’ll kick this season off right, because the music IS going to ROCK! 🙂

Next: Tuesday June 7th, 2011, 7pm
It’s the long awaited return of Glenfiddich Scottish Fiddle Champion
Rebecca Lomnicky
, accompanied by David Brewer (that’s me!),
After winning the National Junior Scottish fiddle championship in 2005, and releasing her solo album The Call, as well as Turning Pages, and Inspired  with David Brewer, Rebecca was invited in 2009 to be one of only eight top fiddlers world-wide to compete in the Glenfiddich Scottish fiddle Championship at Blair Castle in Scotland, which is regarded as the worlds most prestigious Scottish fiddling competition. She won the top prize, making her one of the youngest fiddlers ever to have won the honor, and the only one ever from outside of Scotland.
She is a fiery and passionate performer, but also her depth of knowledge of the style is incredible—you won’t want to miss her rare appearance at Music Night, especially since she is now relocated to New York for music studies at Cornell University! Catch a sneak preview of Rebecca’s fiddling at her website: www.rebeccalomnicky.com

It’s going to be a remarkable evening of music, but also, you have the opportunity to take a fiddle or music lesson with this world-class fiddler!
Rebecca Lomnicky will be offering limited One-Hour lesson slots by appointment at St. Andrew Church on Tuesday June 7th & June 14th, and Thursday June 16th:

“Would you like to work on that bow triplet everyone already seems to know, or a new tune that you keep hearing? I can help you with fiddle technique from tricky bowings to specific Scottish-style ornamentation! I can teach you a traditional tune or a new composition… It’s up to you! Bring some sort of tape or digital recorder because I will be teaching completely by ear. It’s the best way to learn traditional music! See you soon!” ~Rebecca

If you are interested in scheduling a lesson with Rebecca, please email me at pipeyspice@hotmail.com for more fee and times info.

And more to come at CMN this month for the Early Summer Series !
Tuesday June 14th, 7pm: Lady Doris,
Tuesday June 21st, 7pm: Mary Mc Laughlin, Bruce Abrams, & Steve Coulter,
and
Tuesday June 28th, 7pm: Peat-Fire Flames with Shauna Picket-Gordon and Colyn Fischer!
